DZ01 Oscillating piston type oil flow counter

The volume meters of the DZ01 series are rotary piston meters that do not require any auxiliary electrical power. A slotted hollow cylinder known as a rotary piston is located in a cylindrical housing. Due to the guide slot, the piston performs an oscillating movement as soon as medium flows through the measuring chamber. The movement of the piston is transferred magnetically to a summing roller counter, which adds up the volume flow over time. If required, the meters can be equipped with a remote value transmitter designed as a reed or inductive contact, which emits an electrical pulse for each defined volume.

Rotary piston meters are used wherever an oil or fuel flow must be measured in a simple and highly accurate manner without the need for auxiliary electrical power. Typical examples are use in bunker lines on seagoing vessels or as consumption measurement in the forward and return lines of diesel engines. Simple dosing processes can also be controlled with the DZ01, and even aggressive media can be measured using special materials (PTFE or stainless steel pistons, stainless steel chamber). A particular advantage of volume meters is that the measurement result is independent of temperature and viscosity, which is an advantage in some applications compared to float devices or measuring turbines.
